Card edge connector contacts are components of an interconnect system that facilitates the connection of multiple discrete wires to a printed circuit board, using a copper pattern etched on the PCB as one-half of a mating connector pair. To form the other half, contacts such as these are applied to the discrete wires to be connected and inserted into an appropriate housing.
SelectionCharacteristics
Pin or Socket: Identifies the gender or style of contact.
Wire Gauge: The wire size or size range with which a product is designed for use, typically expressed in terms of American Wire Gauge.
Contact Termination: Identifies how the contact attaches to the wire, such as crimp or solder.
Contact Material: Indicates the primary material composition of the contact.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of the device.
Contact Finish Thickness: Indicates the thickness of the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of a device.
