LCD drivers and controllers are printed circuit boards/modules that provide an interface between a microprocessor (MPU) or microcontroller (MCU) system and a liquid crystal display (LCD) that may include capacitive or resistive touchscreen capability. Possible interfaces may include infrared, RS-323, pushbutton, Ethernet, serial, UART, TMDS, USB or TWI.
SelectionCharacteristics
Touchscreen: For devices equipped with a touchscreen controller, indicates the type of touch sensor with which said controller is compatible.
Voltage - Input: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the low and high voltage limits which one can expect standard operation. Voltages outside this range may damage the device and other system components.
Voltage - Output: For devices designed for a user-configured output voltage, the maximum output voltage(s) to which the device’s output can be set.
Size/Dimension: The physical dimensions of the device. Typically length X width.
Interface: Indication of which interface(s) or protocol(s) are used by the device to communicate with other components in the system or the user.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
