The cutting tool products within this family are primarily intended for the production of printed circuit boards by means of a mechanical milling process, though those tools adapted for drilling holes do so equally well on boards that have been chemically etched. Characteristic of this application is a relatively small tool size in comparison to those commonly found in household or industrial use.


SelectionCharacteristics

Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.

Diameter - Bit: Nominal diameter of the tool’s cutting circle; the size of the hole the bit makes.

Diameter - Shank: Diameter of the bit’s gripping/toolholding surface.

Material: Indicates the material composition of the device.

Number of Flutes: The number of separate channels cut into the drill bit to allow waste material to exit the drill-out.

Flute Radius:

Length - Flute: The length of the fluted portion of the bit, measured linearly from the front of the flute cut to the rear.

Length - Overall: The total overall length of the drill bit from tip to the back of the shank.
