Liquid Filtration

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Liquid Filtration category on DigiKey.com

Liquid Filtration is the process of removing solid particles from a liquid with a filter medium collecting the particles and allowing only the clean liquid to flow. The filters are characterized by the type, particle size, flow rate, pressure range, and inlet/outlet size. The particle sizes are 0.1µm, 0.21µm, 0.3µm, 0.5µm (absolute or nominal), 0.7µm, 0.8µm, 1µm, 1.8µm, 3µm, 4µm, 5µm (absolute or nominal), or 20µm.

SelectionCharacteristics

Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.

Applications: Application is the type of equipment or environment the device will be used in, typically they are tested and rated by a third party to ensure certain minimum standards for the application they are intended for.

Particle Size: Indicates the nominal size of the largest particle that will pass through the filter.

Flow Rate: Maximum fluid flow rate the device is rated to handle and be able to filter without damage. Exceeding this flow rate may damage the device or other system components.

Pressure Range: Indicates the range of working fluid pressures over which a device is specified to operate. Exceeding this pressure range may damage the device or other system components.

Inlet/Outlet Size: The dimension of the connecting section(s) of the device.

Height: Indicates the distance from connection end to connection end.

Diameter: Indicates the diameter of the device.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
