Products in the pluggable cable family are connectorized lengths of suitable cable materials designed to meet industry standard specifications and used primarily for interconnecting computer hardware and data network infrastructure components. Products based on electrical and optical interconnections are represented, including SATA, eSATA , SFP, SFP+, micro SFP+, PCIe, QSFP, and others.
SelectionCharacteristics
Cable Connectors: Indicates specific connector type(s) used on the cable, these are typically manufacturer specific.
Number of Positions: The number of contact positions available in the cable. This sometimes differs for connectors in the assembly, and thus can be listed in different contact groupings separated by commas.
Connector Type: Indicates the generic style and configuration of the connectors used on the cable assembly.
Gender: Indicates whether the connectors of the device are male or female in configuration.
Fastening Type: The mating retention mechanism employed by the cable assembly.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a dust cap or low smoke.
Cable Type: Indicates the physical form or structure of the cable.
Usage: The typical expected usage the manufacturer designed the cable assembly for.
Length: The length of the cable assembly, this length may or may not include the connectors. Please consult the individual datasheets.
Color: The dominant color of the cable assembly.
Shielding: Whether or not the device possesses an electrically insulating barrier that helps to reduce or eliminate electromagnetic interference.
