Programming MLX90363 with PTC-04-DB-SPI

We recently bought the PTC-04 and the PTC-04-DB-SPI2 to program a MLX90363. But It is not possible for me to communicate with a MLX90363 (TSSOP-16).

I have already installed the MPT program (from the delivered CD) and can make connection with the PTC-04. Also the DB is found by the program but I can’t find a UI module for the MLX90363. Do I miss something? Or is there something that I do wrong?

Hello @michiel.samyn, I have not used the Melexis tools so am not sure how the PTC-04-DB-SPI interface works. The only thing I have found on Melexis’ website is https://www.melexis.com/en/tech-info/programming-and-software-tools/ptc04 . From reviewing the documentation it seems like there should be firmware for the MLX90363 you can upload. I will check with our Product Manager to see if we can get any more information on the user interface.

Hello @michiel.samyn, In the CD you received with the PTC-04 can you find a directory “MLX90363” under PTC_04 ? In this directory there is PSF and UI firmware you will need to upload into the PTC-04.

Thank you for the information. I uploaded the firmware and installed the PSF but there is no UI module for this sensor. Did the test with other types and this works.
All I find is an excel under the folder application. But how does it work?

Hello,
Do you also have a file called “FIR090363AAMLX.hex” in the “UI 90363ABMLX” directory? I think you also need to upload this file.

I received some more details about installing the MLX User Interface programs and was able to install myself (I don’t have the actual hardware but have the UI working on MPT. I followed instructions on page 6 of the “Installation Guide PTC04” (in PTC-04 documentation folder).

Hello,

I have checked the CD but the UI_090363AAMLX.exe file is not on there. Do I have an older version of CD?
Is it possible to send me the exe?

If you don’t have the .exe you will need to request access to Softdist (Melexis SoftDist - Login Page) so you can download the files, see info at https://www.melexis.com/en/softdist . I cannot send the files, you will need to contact https://www.melexis.com/en/contact/sales-contact to request access. Make sure to reference you need access to the PTC-04 and MLX90363 files and that you have purchased the PTC-04 and PTC-04-DB-SPI hardware.
