Test Probe Tips are used to connect test equipment to the circuit/chip/design being tested. Often the device consists of a cylindrical rod with a head that is concave, convex, a crown, a clamp, a point or blade, or a hooked end. The other end is usually a wire lead. The characteristics are tip type, connection type, tip length, overall length, voltage rating, and cable rating (CAT I, CAT II, CAT III, CAT IV, IEC).

Tip Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the tip of the probe.
Connection Type: Indicates the style/format of the connectors used to connect this product.
Length - Tip: Indicates the length of the tip of the probe.
Length - Overall: Indicates the overall length of the probe.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
Voltage Rating: Typically this represents the maximum voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components.
Ratings: Minimum performance standards of the device, which are typically set by a third party.
Quantity: Indicates the total number of items included.
Current Rating (Amps): Typically this represents the maximum current to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this current may damage the device and/or other system components.
Material - Body: Indicates the material from which a probe body’s primary structural elements are made.
Material - Tip: Indicates the material from which a probe tip’s primary structural elements are made.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
