Turret connectors contain one or more circular flanges arranged around a center post for making solder connections, wire wrap connections or a test point. The turret has an overall length ranging from 0.123” (3.12mm) to 6.090” (154.69mm) with through hole or panel mount types.
SelectionCharacteristics
Terminal Type: A general description of the connector.
Number of Turrets: The quantity of heads on the turret connector.
Length - Above Board: Length of the turret from the mounting flange to the turret head; the height of the turret from a circuit board’s surface when mounted.
Length - Below Flange: Length of the turret from the mounting flange away from the turret head; inclusive of second turret head for double-end types.
Length - Overall: Indicates the overall length of the device.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Termination: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as press-fit or threaded.
Flange Diameter: The diameter of a geometric feature designed to prevent a product from passing completely through a properly sized mounting hole. Often the largest diametric dimension of a product.
Diameter - Turret Head: Diameter of the knob/disk at the end of the turret that aids gripping and wire retention.
Staking Side OD: Outer diameter of the portion of the turret intended for insertion into a printed circuit board or other mounting surface.
Staking Side ID: Inner diameter of the portion of the turret intended for insertion into a printed circuit board or other mounting surface.
Mounting Hole Diameter: Indicates the size of the hole that the device can mount into.
Board Thickness: Indicates the nominal thickness of circuit boards to which a product is designed to be directly attached.
Contact Material: Indicates the material composition of the contact.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contact.
Contact Finish Thickness: Indicates the thickness of the finish/plating material applied to the contact.
Insulation: Indicates whether or not the device is insulated.
