A wrench or spanner is a tool used to provide grip and mechanical advantage in applying torque to turn rotary fasteners such as nuts bolts or to prevent rotation. Wrenches are made in SAE, metric and adjustable configurations to fit a wide variety of fastener sizes and may employ features such as high voltage insulation or angled ends for special conditions. Common tool types are box end, open end, ratcheting, combination, torque and lineman’s wrenches.

Tool Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the wrench.
Measurement Type: Indicates the specific measurement system used for the wrench, which determines the sizes of the nuts and bolts it is compatible with.
End - Size: Indicates wrench size(s) or capacity.
Length: Indicates the overall length of the wrench.
Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the wrench.
End Detail: Indicates the specific geometry of the working end of the wrench.
Torque: Indicates the level of rotational force applied by the wrench.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the tool such as auto locking, ergonomic, or insulated to 1000V.
