Products within this family are the outermost components of modular connector systems listed as “heavy duty,” which serve to hold components known as frames, within which inserts and modules are mounted, within which the contacts that carry electrical power or signals are contained. In this context, “heavy duty” refers to a relatively specific range of interconnect products that are typically of rectangular format and characterized by features such as cast metal backshells, guide pins, and pin-and-latch retention mechanisms.
SelectionCharacteristics
Connector Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Style: Indicates the number and type of entries the device contains.
Size: Indicates the standard size the connector meets. Typically these meet a standard.
Lock Location: Indicates the type and/or the general location where the lock/fastener is on the device.
Thread Size: Indicates the thread size of compatible screws, bolts, or mating parts. For more information on screw sizes see Choosing a Screw by the Thread Size.
Size / Dimension: The physical dimensions of the device. Typically length, width, and height.
Housing Color: The dominant color of the housing of the device.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a cover, corrosion resistance, or a grounding terminal.
Ingress Protection: IP (Ingress Protection) ratings such as (IP20, IP65, IP67, etc.) define how likely water and dirt will get into the system. The first number represents dirt and solid contaminants while the second represents water and liquids.

Housing Material: Indicates the material composition of the housing of the device.
Housing Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the housing of the device.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
