Monitor - Current/Voltage Transducer

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Monitor - Current/Voltage Transducer category on DigiKey.com

Industrial current or voltage transducers are used to monitor variable or non-sinusoidal sources, trigger peripheral devices in phase-fired control systems, monitor ground current, and other voltage or current monitoring applications. Output types include analog voltage or current, and positive and negative fixed voltages with accuracy from 0.2 to 2%.

SelectionCharacteristics

Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.

Input Range: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the low and high voltage or current limits which one can expect standard operation. Voltage or current outside this range may damage the device and other system components.

Output: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the voltage or current values that can be output by the device.

Isolation: The maximum voltage difference that can be observed across the device’s isolation barrier before breakdown occurs and isolation is lost.

Response Time: The amount of time it takes for the sensor to respond to a change in input.

Accuracy: Typically listed as +/- and a percent, this is the amount of deviation that may occur from a perfect reading in the sensor.

Voltage - Supply: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the low and high voltage limits which one can expect standard operation. Voltages outside this range may damage the device and other system components.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.

Termination Style: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as quick connect or screw terminal.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.

Approval Agency: An indication that the product meets the minimum safety standards of an approving agency. These agencies are either government entities or private third-party labs that protect consumer safety.
