Pneumatic and hydraulic shock absorbers and dampers are used to absorb and dissipate energy. Types include gas springs, linear dampers, rotary dampers, shock absorbers, speed controllers, and more.
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Technology: Indicates how the device is mitigating the shock/impact.
Operation: Indicates the direction of motion the item is designed to act. Also indicates if the item is designed to resist forces acting on it.
Stroke Length: The maximum rated travel distance of the actuator.
Length - Extended: The length of the item with its actuator in its extended state.
Impact Velocity: The maximum speed of impact the device is designed to handle.
Impact Capacity per Cycle: The maximum force per impact the item is designed to handle.
Actuation Force: The rated value of force that can be applied to the item in a steady state.
Reset Time: The time it takes the device to return to a fully ready state.
Reset Force: The force the device applies to its actuator to get to a full ready state.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as cushioned start or high temperature seals.
Cushioning: Indicates if the device has cushioning and how it is implemented.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
