What is an MCU or DSP evaluation board?
Products within this family provide a convenient means of evaluating the performance or behavior of microcontroller, microprocessor, and digital signal processor components in the context of a proven hardware implementation. Included products vary in their intended use case, and may range from unpopulated PCBs intended to facilitate evaluation to a range of microcontroller families, to single board computers with extensive peripheral support.
Introduction to DigiKey’s Product Selection Guide
This page is one of many in DigiKey’s Product Selection Guide (PSG). This particular page is focused on embedded - MCU, DSP. It provides a description of the individual parameters used to characterize the part. This information will allow you to better understand and navigate DigiKey’s parametric search engine. How are microcontroller and digital signal processing evaluation boards categorized?
-
Type: Indicates which broad category of focus IC the evaluation board is centered around.
-
Core Processor: Identifies the microprocessor or processor technology that serves as the primary computational engine for a board or device.
-
Platform: Indicates a standardized set of products, hardware form factor, and/or interconnect specification with which a product is intended for use or intended to be compatible.
-
Utilized IC / Part: Indicates the central integrated circuit the device is designed around.
-
Mounting Type: Indicates the method by which the focus IC is affixed to the evaluation board.
-
Contents: Indicates items included with purchase.
