Products in this family are used for manual electronics assembly and rework processes, and incorporate the temperature measurement and control functions necessary for such processes, along with any airflow or vacuum generation applicable to a given tool system’s purpose. Included products vary in their scope, from complete, self-contained tools to base units requiring additional separately-sold components for use, to products in kit form which include multiple tool system components and accessories that are also available as separate items.
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Wattage: Indicates the amount of electrical power a station controller is capable of delivering to a compatible iron or similar accessory.
Voltage - Input: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the low and high voltage limits which one can expect standard operation. Voltages outside this range may damage the device and other system components.
Plug Type: Describes the style of the AC power input plug(s) included with a station, if any.
Voltage - Output: The nominal voltage of a device’s output.
Number of Channels: Indicates the number of attachments the station would be able to accommodate.
Control/Display Type: Describes the user interface for temperature setting and indication.
Includes: Indicates items included with purchase.
Base Unit: The model number of the power supply/control portion of the station.
Supplied Iron, Tweezer, Handle: Enumerates model number(s) of the hand instruments supplied with a station.
Supplied Tips/Nozzles: Enumerates model number(s) of the soldering tips or nozzles that are supplied with a station.
Workstand: Indicates the model number(s) of the tool/handpiece holder(s) included with a station.
Temperature Range: Indicates the span of operating temperatures the item can operate on.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as auto off or ESD safe.
