Rectangular connector housings are plastic connector shells that do not contain any contacts. These are available in multiple mounting types including board mount, bracket mount, DIN rail, free hanging (in-line), panel mount, screw mount, stacking, surface mount, and through-hole. These are available in many different position and pitch options for male or female contacts.
SelectionCharacteristics
Connector Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Contact Type: Indicates the style and gender of the contacts.
Number of Positions: Indicates the number of distinct conductors presented at a connector’s mating interface and the number of electrical contact points present within a connector.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.
Number of Rows: Indicates the number of rows the connector has.
Row Spacing: The nominal center distance between rows of contacts of a connector.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Contact Termination: Identifies how the contact attaches to the wire, such as crimp or solder.
Fastening Type: The mating retention mechanism employed by the device.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as assembly kit, blind mating, or cover.
Insulation Material: Indication of the type of material used in the fabrication of the insulation.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
