Basics of Switches and Relays: An Overview of Poles and Throws

Tech Tip: Switches typically have 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, or 12 contacts, although this can vary if there are additional dummy pins, illumination features, or custom functions. Relays are similar but include additional pins for the input coil(s).


ON is Latching; (ON) is Momentary

NONE: Actuator does not stop in that position

OFF: Actuator stops in that position, no electrical connection
